Hello, my name is Emma and I am the owner of The Groom’s House, in Buxton. A very warm welcome to my website. Here is a little information about the cottage. The Groom’s House is a recently renovated barn conversion, sleeping four people, in the very heart of Buxton, making it ideal for those wanting to make the most of this vibrant spa town, full of bars, restaurants, independent shops, fascinating history and top-class theatres. Nestled on the edge of the Peak District National Park, it is also the ideal base for those wanting to explore this beautiful area. After a day of browsing, dining and exploring, you can return to The Groom’s House to enjoy your own private patio with hot-tub, and your beloved pets are able to stay too!
The Groom’s House has an open plan living area with sofa and dining seating for four people, with TV, as well as DVDs, board games and that all important WiFi, so plenty to keep you entertained in the evenings after a day out enjoying fabulous Buxton.
The stylish, modern kitchen at The Groom’s House has all you could need, including microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, so you’re sure to have a relaxing, home from home stay.
Upstairs you will find two light airy bedrooms, one double and one twin, making this ideal for families. Both rooms also have TVs. There is also a fresh, clean family bathroom with bath and over-bath shower

The outside space at The Groom’s House is equally as special, with a private, sunny patio area and a fabulous hot-tub! There is also patio furniture, making this a wonderful place to dine, relax and enjoy!
For those bringing a four-legged friend, or those who intend to explore the glorious surrounding countryside, whatever the weather – there is also a handy outside tap, perfect for rinsing off those dirty paws and muddy walking boots!

Location
The historic town of Buxton has something to offer everyone and even has a railway station, perfect for those wishing to leave the car behind.
The Buxton Opera House and Octagon Theatre are just 450 yards from The Groom’s House, and there are many, many shops, bars, and restaurants just a short walk away.
Although a small town, Buxton has many wonderful places to eat, with a variety of restaurants offering food from all over the world. So, whether you want to stick with a good old English breakfast in one of the many cafes, or enjoy a fine dining experience from further afield, there is something to suit all tastes and budgets. Likewise, there are a variety of bars from country pubs with real ales to elegant wine bars for those wanting a little more fizz.
You can enjoy Buxton’s amazing architecture on foot or on one of the fabulous bus tours. The beautiful Pavilion Gardens cover 23 acres of landscaped gardens and play areas, perfect for a family day out. They also host more than 100 events and festivals throughout the year, there is always something to see and do here. This is just one of the venues for the many musicals, films, ballets, and festivals – the arts list here just goes on….
Step away from all of this, and of course you also have the key to what the Peak District is all about – miles and miles of open countryside. Whether you choose to visit the famous Poole’s Cavern within Buxton Country Park, or venture out to the Roaches or Chrome Hill, there are miles of footpaths with stunning scenery all around for you to discover and enjoy.
