Although a small town, Buxton has many wonderful places to eat, with a variety of restaurants offering food from all over the world. So, whether you want to stick with a good old English breakfast in one of the many cafes, or enjoy a fine dining experience from further afield, there is something to suit all tastes and budgets. Likewise, there are a variety of bars from country pubs with real ales to elegant wine bars for those wanting a little more fizz.

You can enjoy Buxton’s amazing architecture on foot or on one of the fabulous bus tours. The beautiful Pavilion Gardens cover 23 acres of landscaped gardens and play areas, perfect for a family day out. They also host more than 100 events and festivals throughout the year, there is always something to see and do here. This is just one of the venues for the many musicals, films, ballets, and festivals – the arts list here just goes on….

Step away from all of this, and of course you also have the key to what the Peak District is all about – miles and miles of open countryside. Whether you choose to visit the famous Poole’s Cavern within Buxton Country Park, or venture out to the Roaches or Chrome Hill, there are miles of footpaths with stunning scenery all around for you to discover and enjoy.
